With over 20 years’ experience in the design industry and over 10 years’ experience working in the interactive computer graphics industry, Neil has also taught on higher education courses over the past 10 years.
His specialist fields of teaching are interior design, computer generated images and animations for architectural visualisation and computer modeling.
Neil started his career working for a number of design consultancies in the UK before moving into the interactive visualisation industry to create work which ranged from arts-based projects to commercial projects for clients in Europe, Asia and the USA.
He has exhibited internationally at Imagina and Siggraph. His current research and teaching extends many of the experimental ideas he has been working on since first joining Teesside’s virtual reality team to work at the leading edge of interactive design thinking.
Enterprise Interest and Activities
Project Title: Enhancement Of Russian Creative Education: New Masters Program In Digital Arts In Line With EU Standards [ENMDA]
The project aims to develop EU and Russian Universities postgraduate programmes in Digital Arts to comply with the changing demands of the media industry as well as with recent Bologna regulations. An outcome of the project is to disseminate the best techniques in digital design education. At the end of the three-year project an EU University will be given a chance to validate their programme at a Russian University/Universities and to offer Russian students joint or dual MA/MSc degree.
