Okechukwu is a research student at Teesside University International Business School. His project focuses on land-based solutions for climate change mitigation and adaptation: a case of the Tees River Catchment in north-east England. His research investigates how land resources can be used to effectively reduce greenhouse gas emissions while strengthening resilience to climate risks.
Okechukwu previously worked as an independent market developer for Honda Manufacturing Nigeria. He was recognized with the HGMO award in 2017 for his outstanding performance. In 2018, he also received distinguished service recognition from the Embassy of Japan for his support to flood victims in Hiroshima, showcasing his commitment to environmental and humanitarian causes.
Okechukwu currently contributes to UKRI and EEUK-funded projects as a research and innovations associate, furthering his engagement with impactful research and policy development. Prior to his current role, he worked with Shizen energy group in Tokyo, and recently led a field experiment in Africa to understand rural household behaviour towards energy consumption and environmental sustainability in four communities.
