Personal profile

Academic Biography

I serve as a Lecturer in Business Strategy at Teesside University, possessing a robust academic and professional foundation in strategic management, organisational behaviour, and operational planning. My PhD research examines the influence of formalisation on the performance of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria, particularly within the context of informal entrepreneurship. This work fosters a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities encountered by MSMEs in dynamic and competitive markets.

My research focuses on empowering MSMEs by developing strategic frameworks that promote resilience, innovation, and sustainable growth. My research connects academic theory with practical application, providing insights into sustainable practices, leadership development, and the effects of external economic factors on organisational performance.

In my role as a lecturer, I integrate comprehensive academic instruction with practical insights, promoting a learning environment that supports critical thinking, collaborative problem-solving, and reflective practice. I possess considerable experience in mentoring students, especially in dissertation supervision, and in directing projects that examine strategic positions, organisational challenges, and risk management.

I am dedicated to continuous education and significant research. I have engaged with multiple academic and industry platforms, disseminating findings that guide policy and practical approaches for MSME development. In addition to teaching and research, they participate in professional networks, collaborate on interdisciplinary projects, and support initiatives that promote the growth of small businesses.
