Personal profile

Academic Biography

I am a PhD Researcher in the Sociology, Social Policy and Social Work pathway. My PhD is funded by the ESRC via the NINE DTP scholarship. My research is exploring systems of supply and cultures of demand of image-enhancement drugs in offline and online contexts via offline and online ethnographic research.

I have a strong background and reputable track record in research. I possess 9 years of experience as an inter-disciplinary social researcher in academia - working across the disciplines of Anthropology, Criminology, Public Health, Sociology and Social Policy - and the third-sector.

I have worked as lead researcher on a diverse range of internally and externally funded research projects including the European Commission, the National Lottery Community Fund, the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), and the Clinical Research Network (CRN). I have led, managed, and worked on several research projects, simultaneously.

I hold a BSc (Hons) in Sociology with Psychology from Teesside University, an MA in Social Anthropology from the University of Manchester and a PGCert in Research Training from Newcastle University.

I am also a peer-reviewer for several academic journals.
