Personal profile

Academic Biography

I was a principal lecturer in psychology at Cardiff Metropolitan University for 16 years from 1996, before moving to Mexico in 2012.  Prior to that I taught psychology in colleges of further eduction.

In Mexico, I continued to work and to study, successfully passing La Formación de Profesores de Lengua-Cultura in CELE, UNAM which permitted me to teach English language and culture in the country.  I taught English for a year in a private primary school before following my interests in culture and moving on to teach at the university, El Claustro de Sor Juana in 2013.  Whilst in Mexico I wrote a Blog, continued to supervise PhD students in Cardiff Metropolitan University and in the University of Almería and taught on degree courses in psychology in the UK via the internet.

I am a long standing member of a research project initiated and led by Prof. Jesús de la Fuente at the University of Navarra in Spain.  I have a keen interest in psychology around the world.  I coordinated links in psychology between Cardiff Metropolitan University and other European Universities and universities in other parts of the world including UNAM in México.  I was the moderator for Cardiff Metropolitan University’s franchised degree course, Psychological Studies at EASB in Singapore.

With this comes an interest in culture and the social contexts of behaviour along with the application of psychology to people's daily lives in all parts of the world.  I am now proud to be working as a lecturer in psychology at Teesside University.
