Academic Biography
Paula is a senior lecturer in the School of Health & Social Care. She commenced her registered general nurse training in 1987 and since qualifying she has worked on elderly care, medical wards and emergency admissions unit before becoming a Respiratory Nurse Specialist.
She joined Teesside University in 2008 and has teaching responsibilities for postgraduate modules. She is Course Leader for MSc Advanced Clinical Practice and the associated Advanced Clincial Pracititioner apprenticeship.
Summary of Research Interests
Paula's Research interest lies in the following inter-related areas:
- The value of OSCE in physical assessment skills.
- Advanced Clinical Practice.
Current projects:
- Setting the research priorities for advanced practice through a collaborative approach (regional ACP research group)
- Scoping Review: Exploring the gap in UK Advanced Clincial Practice research.
