Dr Rajesh Shankar Priya is a Senior Lecturer at Teesside University in the area of Business and Management. His research interests are in the area of Integrating Industry 4.0 principles with Circular economy and Supply Chain Management. Before joining academia, Dr Rajesh Shankar Priya was a Senior Scientist at the world’s top innovation institute for applied research ‘Fraunhofer Society’ in Germany. He worked in the area of Business Intelligence and Technical Cybernetics in Dresden. Dr Rajesh Shankar Priya was also involved in the development of the first German Pico-Satellite in 2005 as a Sub-Systems manager for IT and tele-communications at the University of Wuerzburg. He has won several awards in the area of Science and Technology including the Fraunhofer excellence awards for 3 consecutive years from 2009. He was awarded the most commendable award of ‘The Best Foreign Student of the year 2003’ by the German Academic Council. Dr Rajesh Shankar Priya has been a member of several delegations to European Commission, German Embassy in India and held several Key Note speeches, all across the globe. Dr Rajesh Shankar Priya pursued his Engineering Doctorate with a full industrial scholarship at one of the world’s renowned, top-ranked university (Warwick Manufacturing group, University of Warwick). Dr Rajesh Shankar Priya has travelled over 55 countries and studied and worked in Japan, USA, Canada, Germany, United Kingdom and Russia. He holds a BSc in Information Systems, MSc in Mechatronics (with full scholarship), PhD in Value Chain Engineering and a PG Certificate in Social Research Methods
He is a curiously passionate about learning and teaching and regularly motivates students from Kindergarten to PhD level. He is a German National and speaks 5 languages fluently including German, Russian, English, Hindi and Tamil.
At his current role, he is involved in Teaching and Research activities in the area of Operations and Business Management at Teesside University's Business School. He is also reponsible for module leadership and new course development. With over 20 years of Global Business and Technology Management experience worldwide, he has collaborated with key industrial partners like JLR, Airbus and VW and worked with key academic partners like Stanford University, Toronto University, Monash Unviersity and several other European and Asian Universities. Having worked in key scientifc and management roles at world class institutions like Fraunhofer and Warwick, he has lead emerging research fields in the area of Business Intelligence and Global Technology Management.
