Academic Biography

Rebecca’s background is grounded in early years teaching within schools – foundation, Key Stage 1 and 2. She graduated from Bishop Grosseteste University College Lincoln with a BA (Hons) Primary Education, a degree which incorporated a Qualified Teacher Status. While teaching there she completed an MA Education. It was an action research degree which means it was research oriented towards enhancing direct practice. After 13 years within primary schools, Rebecca’s passion for learning brought her to Teesside University.

In higher education, Rebecca has been involved in teaching and assessing Early Years Professional Status and Early Years Teacher Status. She currently teaches a number of undergraduate modules on early pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning in early years and Key Stage 1 and 2.

Rebecca is a Year 2 tutor for the BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies. She has also lectured in Malaysia as part of the ECS delivery internationally.
