Academic Biography
Dr Rebekah McNaughton is a Senior Lecturer in Research in the Department of Women’s and children’s/ Public Health in the School of Health and Social Care at Teesside University. She graduated in 2005 with a BSc Psychology and completed an MSc Social Research Methods both at Teesside University.
Rebekah was awarded her PhD from Teesside University in 2018. Her PhD explored the utility of Normalisation Process Theory to explore the patient journey through the NHS Health Checks programme for individuals who had been identified as having an increased risk of suffering a cardiovasular event in the next 10 years.
Rebekah has worked on varied research and evaluation projects (please see projects section) and published in peer-reviewed journals (please see publications section). Rebekah also acts as an external reviewer for several journals.
Rebekah teaches research and qualitative methods across a range of clinical programmes including nursing and paramedic sciences. Rebekah is also the Course Leader for the Doctor of Professional Practice.
