Academic Biography

I am an experienced academic in Administrative Sciences and Human Resource Management (HRM), with a career distinguished by a robust foundation in both theoretical frameworks and practical industry applications. Prior to my transition into academia, I held various roles within the industry, which afforded me valuable insights into the practical implementation of business and HRM principles. This dual foundation enables me to bridge theoretical knowledge and practice effectively, thereby preparing students with the analytical and applied skills critical for professional success.
A committed advocate for student development, I cultivate a rigorous and engaging learning environment designed to foster intellectual curiosity and professional competence. As a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), I am dedicated to advancing teaching excellence and continuously refining pedagogical methodologies to enhance student learning outcomes.
Beyond my instructional duties, I actively contribute to scholarly research, with publications addressing pertinent issues in business, HRM, and related disciplines. My extensive experience within fast-paced academic settings further equips me to contribute substantively to a dynamic academic community while thriving in a student-centered, high-tempo educational environment.

Summary of Research Interests

My research interests focus on Human Resource Management (HRM) and organizational change, emphasizing social mobility, workplace diversity, and resilience. I explore barriers and opportunities for Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) groups, promote equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) practices, and design resilient HRM strategies to enhance workforce adaptability in dynamic industries. Collaborating with international partners, I apply secondary qualitative methods to address complex HRM challenges, bridging academic insights with practical applications.

Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), my work addresses global challenges through interdisciplinary approaches. Research on COVID-19’s financial impacts and organizational resilience contributes to SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), while studies on environmental-economic linkages support SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and SDG 13 (Climate Action). Additionally, my investigations into gender differences and workforce equity advance SDG 5 (Gender Equality).
