Academic Biography
Ryan Davies is a dedicated healthcare academic and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with a clinical and educational background spanning urgent, primary, and palliative care. He currently serves as a Course Lead and Senior Lecturer in Primary and Urgent Care at Teesside University, where he leads undergraduate and postgraduate programmes including BSc Paramedic Practice and First Contact Practitioner.
Holding a Master of Science in Advanced Clinical Practice from Teesside University, Ryan brings both academic rigour and hands-on clinical expertise to his teaching and leadership roles. He is an accredited Advanced Clinical Practitioner with the Centre for Advancing Practice and a registered paramedic with independent and supplementary prescribing rights. Ryan also holds membership with the Association for Prescribers.
Ryan’s previous clinical roles include Advanced Clinical Practitioner and Palliative Care Lead in General Practice, where he implemented the Daffodil Standards and led significant quality improvement initiatives in end-of-life care and service accessibility. Ryan also continues to practice as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner.
Ryan is passionate about leadership, education, and continuous service improvement. His academic and clinical contributions are grounded in the four pillars of advanced practice; clinical practice, leadership, education, and research and he continues to influence healthcare delivery and education with a transformational leadership style that encompasses accountability, creativity, and excellence.
