Academic Biography
Dr. Saleh Meibodi is a Lecturer in Sustainable Engineering in the Department of Computing, Engineering & Digital Technologies at Teesside University. Before joining Teesside University, he held a position as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in integrated energy systems in the Durham Energy Institute (DEI) at Durham University, UK, from January 2022 to June 2023. During this period, his research focused on developing and optimizing advanced hybrid seasonal solar energy storage and heat pumps integrated into energy systems aiming to make them more efficient, and sustainable. Following his appointment at Teesside University, Saleh became a Visiting Researcher at the Durham Energy Institute (DEI). Prior to this role, he worked as a Research Fellow in geothermal district heating systems at the University of Leeds, UK, for over a year. His research works included the assessment of energy geostructures connected to district heating networks and their potential to contribute to meeting the UK net-zero target. He undertook the position following the award of a PhD in “Modelling dynamic thermal behaviour of thermal energy networks” in January 2021 from the University of Leeds, UK.
Over the past decade, Dr Meibodi conducted research on clean technologies and thermal energy systems including district heating systems, solar energy and geothermal systems intending to make the systems more sustainable, efficient, and cost-effective. The outcomes and findings of his research have been presented and published in a wide range of reputable peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He also serves as a reviewer for several well-known international journals such as Renewable Energy, International Journal of Thermofluids, Energies, and Tunnelling and Underground Space Technology.
Currently, Dr. Meibodi is actively engaged in a number of collaborative research projects primarily focusing on thermal energy storage and renewable energy systems. If you are interested in collaborating or developing research projects, please don’t hesitate to contact via email at [email protected].
