Dr. Samyia Safdar is a distinguished academic and leader in Business Management, with a wealth of experience spanning research, teaching, and strategic leadership. Currently serving as a Lecturer at Teesside University, she previously held the position of Assistant Professor at Capital University of Science and Technology for five years. During her tenure, she demonstrated remarkable versatility by excelling in teaching, research, and academic leadership.
Her expertise lies in leadership, organizational behavior, project management, and understanding the psychological impacts of crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Safdar’s strategic leadership skills are evident in her roles as Chair of the Curriculum Review Committee, Strategic Plan Committee, and SAR PhD Committee. She also contributes to shaping academic futures as a Board of Directors member for the MBA program, a Batch Advisor, a Personal Tutor, and a Module Leader for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

As a Topic Editor for Frontiers in Psychology from February 2022 to August 2023, Dr. Samyia Safdar expertly defined the scope of the Research Topic “What Makes Leadership Responsible and Effective? Reinventing Leadership in the COVID-19 Outbreak”. She identified and contacted potential contributors, assessed and provided feedback on abstract submissions, and ensured sufficient contributions for a comprehensive collection. Dr. Safdar oversaw the review process of submitted manuscripts as a handling editor and ensured the completion of the topic by providing an editorial. Concurrently, from November 2019 to January 2024, Dr. Safdar served as an Associate Editor at the Jinnah Business Review (JBR).
