I completed my PhD in Health Psychology at Northumbria University examining the psychobiological mechanisms underpinning the association between Type D personality and physical health complaints. After my PhD I stayed at Northumbria to work on the 'Healthy Sleep Project' in collaboration with The Sleep Council, and was also involved in a project developing an intervention for alleviating fatigue in healthcare professionals. I then moved to the Mental Health and Addictions Research Group at the University of York where I worked on a number of research projects at the interface of somatic and mental health. I am a chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and serve on the BPS Research Board as an Early Career Representative. I started as lecturer in Psychology at Teesside in January 2020 where I hope to expand my research profile. My research interests lie at the interface of health and biological psychology and I am particularly interested in the areas of stress, sleep, fatigue and somatic symptoms.
