Summary of Research Interests

Dr. Shadab Alam has joined the Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre of Teesside University, UK on 25 September 2024, as a postdoctoral research fellow where he will be working on “Northern Ireland/Great Britain Marine Decarbonisation” project. With a distinguished research career spanning 9.5 years at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Dr. Alam has dedicated his work to advancing Clean, Sustainable, and Efficient Energy Technologies to address the pressing challenges of global warming.

Dr. Alam's primary areas of expertise lie in Blue/Green H2 Production and Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU). Throughout his tenure, he has made significant contributions to the field, including two patents: “Novel Hybrid Sorbent-Catalyst Composition and Method of Making Thereof for Blue H Production” and “Direct Air Capture (DAC) of CO2 using Phase Change Amines”.

His research prowess is further evidenced by 10 publications in renowned international journals, boasting an impressive average Impact Factor of 6.8. With an h-index of 5 and 102 citations, Dr. Alam's work has garnered substantial recognition in the scientific community. Additionally, he has authored a book chapter on “Biogas Upgradation to H2 rich syngas”, further solidifying his expertise in sustainable energy solutions.
