Dr. Shamaila Gull has been affiliated with the higher education sector since 2005 and currently serves as a Senior Lecturer in Business. She holds a Doctorate in Sustainable Business Practices, where she applied Action Research within the textile manufacturing sector, an approach that earned her an honorary invitation to present at an international conference hosted by Groningen University, Netherlands. She also holds a Master’s degree with a specialization in Marketing.
Dr. Gull is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), reflecting her commitment to excellence in teaching and learning in higher education. Her academic portfolio spans a diverse range of subjects across Management and Marketing, underpinned by her interdisciplinary expertise and pedagogical innovation.

Driven by a passion for creating meaningful societal impact, Dr. Gull is dedicated to making her research accessible to a wider audience. Her work continues to influence both academic discourse and practical applications in sustainable business and responsible management.
Shamaila has worked as an action-researcher with partner organizations from textile sector in a developing economy to deliver training sessions introducing collaborative learning as a mean to induce relational space among employees. She has provided research-based consultancy to one of these organizations under a funded project which was later presented at an International Conference in Groningen University, the Netherlands.
She has a keen interest in partnering with Entrepreneurial leaders to help them in embracing sustainability as an integral business strategy. She is actively engaged in promoting and executing Athena Swan Charter at Teesside University.

Dr. Gull is dedicatedly looking to explore research funding forums to translate the learning and impact of her previous academic and research acievements. She completed her Doctorate of Business Administration degree in Sustainable Business from Switzerland. Her research methodology primarily included an Action-Research (AR) intervention in a world renowned textile manufacturing & exporting organization. Additionally, she has employed a mixed-method approach during her course of doctorate research comprising AR intervention, quantitative and qualitative analysis.
She has successfully supervised multiple doctorate graduates and currently, supervising five more DBA candidates. She has also supervised more than 50 MS level theses over her extensive academic career. She has also been actively engaged in supervising and monitoring final year projects of undergraduate students with more than 60 projects achieving acceptance and recognition in their respective institutes.
Dr. Gull is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy, the UK. She has served as first-ever female Eelected Member of Board of Governors at University of the Punjab (one of the biggest universities in South-East Asia) which was a historic achievement and honor (2011-2017).
She has served as an Elected Member of Senate at University of the Punjab (2019-2022).
She has actively contributed as a member of Academic Board of Studies and Post-Graduate Research Committee (Institute of Business Management, UET Lahore).
She has served as an Advisor at Punjab Public Service Commission, Pakistan for Recruitment & Selection in public offices.
