Academic Biography
Dr Shamim Ahmed holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Business Strategy and Leadership, awarded by the University of the West of Scotland in 2021. Dr Ahmed is currently appointed at Teesside University London (TUL) and teaches across the areas of digital marketing, business strategy, leadership, and management.
In addition to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, Dr Ahmed is actively involved in curriculum design, the development of teaching and learning materials, and the supervision of student research projects. He also provides academic and pastoral support to students from a wide range of backgrounds.
Dr Ahmed’s research interests include digital business transformation, strategic leadership, and marketing innovation. His work contributes to the advancement of knowledge through both academic research and enterprise engagement, supporting the university’s mission of fostering academic excellence and innovation.

Dr Ahmed collaborates with industry partners and academic institutions to support innovation in digital marketing strategies, business development, and leadership education. He has worked with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), including Tamasha Ltd, on areas such as strategic planning, digital marketing implementation, and business growth initiatives.
In his academic role, Dr Ahmed has contributed to enterprise education and knowledge exchange through curriculum design and applied research, aligning teaching with real-world business challenges. He also engages in academic consultancy projects focused on leadership development and consumer engagement strategies, particularly within diverse and multicultural business contexts.
External Research Collaborations
Dr Ahmed has developed collaborative academic and industry relationships that enhance teaching, research, and enterprise engagement. He has worked with colleagues from Arden University, University of West London, Elizabeth School of London and Nelson College London on projects related to blended learning innovation, digital pedagogy, and enterprise curriculum development.
He collaborated with academic staff at Arden University to develop and refine entrepreneurship modules for adult learners, contributing to improved learner engagement and applied assessment strategies. At the University of West London (delivered via UKCBC) and Elizabeth School of London, he contributed to knowledge-sharing sessions focused on culturally inclusive business education.
