Personal profile
Academic Biography
I am currently a Senior Lecturer in Project Management at Teesside University, UK. I was a Research Fellow in Augmented Reality (AR) Application Development with BIM at the Big-DEAL Lab, the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol. During my stay at BDAL (now Big-DEAL) between 2017 and 2019, I worked as a Research Fellow in Big Data Application Development and as a Research Associate in Digital Construction with Big Data. In my different roles within the Lab, I worked on many industry-led projects such as Deconstruction and Recovery Information Modelling (DRIM), IoT-enabled Platform for Rail Assets Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance (i-RAMP), Conversational-BIM, among others. I led the AR Development team that worked on Integrating Conversational AI and Augmented Reality (AR) with BIM for a faster and more collaborative on-site construction assemblage (Conversational-BIM) Project.
As an academic, I was a Lecturer in the Architecture Department, FUTA Nigeria for many years teaching Construction Technology, Building Materials, Environmental Sciences, and Architectural Design. In practice, I worked as Project Architect with Project and Design Associate Ltd and as the Head of the Construction Unit of Ekiti State Public Building Bureau. These have culminated in over 15 years of teaching, research, and industrial experiences in the field of Architecture and Construction Management. I have over 30 publications in reputable journals and international conference proceedings.
These experiences have enabled me to combine huge commercial awareness with a great academic reputation in terms of grant writing skills and publishing in high-impact journals. Similarly, I have been able to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and robust research output. I consider myself a good team player who enjoys working in teams by motivating others while working in a pressurised environment to meet tight deadlines. I like travelling, learning new things, and meeting people. I enjoy writing, reading, publishing, and exploring innovations.
