Dr Sohel Ahmed is a Lecturer in Marketing at Teesside University Business School. He earned a PhD in Management (with a focus on marketing) from Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), Malaysia (UTP is ranked #414 in the QS Global World Rankings 2022). Sohel worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and Business Studies at Mazoon College for more than two years before moving to Teesside in January 2021. Mazoon College is a prominent HEI in Oman that collaborates with Perdue University Northwest and Missouri University of Science and Technology from the United States. He worked as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the School of Business Administration at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco. He formerly worked for four years as the Tutor of the Management and Humanities Department at Universiti Teknologi Petronas in Malaysia.
Sohel is a researcher who is constantly working on new projects. His study focuses on marketing, scale development, and quantitative methods in particular. He has several publications published in ABS rated and ABDC category A journals, including the international journal of market research and the service industries journal. Sohel serves as an external examiner for postgraduate research committees, academic programmes, and other organisations. He reviews research papers for renowned journals and conferences such as JBR, IJMR, and AMA, among others.
