Academic Biography
Steven began his teaching career at a training provider in what is now the Education and Training Sector (formally Lifelong Learning Sector), supporting students’ development in maths and English. This led to a role at the University of Sunderland, supporting, teaching and assessing student teachers on the PGCE (PCET) programme, as well as delivering CPD sessions and offering support to staff in local colleges. Whilst at the University of Sunderland, Steven successfully gained an MA in Advancing Pedagogy.
Steven’s next role was as a Lecturer in Education and Training with Tyne Metropolitan College in North Tyneside, where he continued to support the development of PGCE students as well as teach on various Teaching Assistant courses and the BA (Hons) Education and Training. As with his previous role, Steven continued to support local organisations with bespoke programmes of CPD for their staff involved in teaching and/or training.
In 2014, Steven joined Teesside University as Senior Lecturer in Education and is involved in the PGCE (Education and Training), BA (Hons) Education Studies, BA (Hons) Education and Training programmes as well as supporting various modules across the Education team's provision.
