Dr Tariq Galadanchi Ahmed is a Post Doctoral Research Associate in the School of Computing Engineering and Digital Technologies. He is a trained Six Sigma Green Belt and holds the Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with the Institute of Materials Minerals and Mining. He is also a member of the Energy Institute (EI) and Society of Petroleum Engineering (SPE). Tariq completed his BEng (Hons) in Chemistry from Kano University of Science and Technology Wudil, MSc in Petroleum Engineering, and a PhD in Separator Optimisation both from Teesside University. His research is mainly focused on Separator optimisation, CFD modelling of surface separation equipment, and Smart Grids.
As part of his current position, Tariq works closely with several companies and organisations such as Minus7, Atos, SEIMENS, sorea, Newcastle University, ASM Terni spA, University of Cyprus, Lisboa E-Nova. Tariq’s comprehensive analysis of Darby Tech Separator contributed to securing funding for a follow-on PhD student and helped foster an ongoing collaboration with Darby Tech. Tariq has also worked closely with Middlesbrough College, TTE, Nigerian National Petroleum Commission (NNPC) and the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF).
Dr Tariq is an associate fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA). He handles Engineering Design, Engineering Application, Mass and Energy Balance and Mass Transfer Operation Modules for the Teesside University Online Learning for Engineering (TUOLE).
