Academic Biography
Damiari, Temple Adawari Michael is a distinguished legal scholar, seasoned writer, administrator, and practitioner with over 16 years of legal practice experience. He holds an LL.B (Hons), B.L, an LL.M (Nigeria), and an LL.M with Distinction from Teesside University, UK. Currently, he serves as a Part-time Lecturer in Law at the School of Social Sciences, Humanities, and Law (SSSHL) at Teesside University, UK, and a PhD Researcher in law at SSSHL, Teesside University, UK. Temple teaches and assesses both undergraduate and postgraduate law students, supervises dissertations, serves as an Academic Support Assistant, and also works as an invigilator during University examinations. Temple is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) UK.
In addition to his academic and professional credentials, Temple has held key administrative roles, including serving as Practice Manager for reputed law firms, where he honed his leadership and organisational skills. Known for his ability to challenge the status quo, Temple’s research has significantly influenced judicial decisions, including landmark Nigerian labour cases, where courts have extensively cited his work. His expertise spans international criminal law, international environmental law, international trade law, environmental justice, trade and environment intersection, climate change and sustainability, corporate law, energy, international human rights, and labour, making him a voice in the fight against environmental degradation and corporate impunity.
