Academic Biography

Vanessa Jordens serves as a Lecturer in Enterprise and Innovation at Teesside University International Business School. With a robust academic background and extensive experience in both teaching, research and practice, Vanessa is dedicated to fostering a dynamic learning environment for students pursuing higher degree apprenticeships and full time business students in business management, sustainability, enterprise and innovation. 

 

Specializing in business entrepreneurship and innovation. Vanessa is passionate about guiding students to achieve their full potential and succeed in their academic and professional endeavours. Vanessa's research interests and current doctoral focus is in sustainability and small and medium-sized enterprise. Her work examines how SMEs can successfully transition towards sustainable practices through effective change management strategies. This research is particularly relevant in the current global context, where businesses are increasingly required to adopt sustainable practices to meet regulatory and societal expectations.

 

By integrating sustainability into the curriculum, Vanessa aims to instill in students an understanding of the importance of sustainable business practices and the skills needed to implement these practices within organisations. Vanessa works with industry partners to bridge the gap between academic research and real-world application.
