Vishak is a PhD student at the School of Computing, Engineering and Digital Technologies. His research focuses on digital twins and cyber-physical energy systems optimisation. He holds an MSc in Civil and Structural Engineering with Distinction and a First-Class BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering from Teesside University. He is currently involved in the European Union funded research project, SensAR, focusing on the integration of augmented reality in engineering and energy efficiency. He is also involved in teaching and demonstrations in Civil and Structural Engineering modules.
His research interests include integration of technologies in engineering and energy efficiency: Augmented Reality (AR), Building Information Modelling (BIM), Internet of Things (IoT) Sensors, Digital Twin, Cyber-Physical Energy Systems (CPES), and Building Simulation and Optimisation.
Vishak is currently the main Technical Developer in SensAR (Near-real time sensory data in AR), a European Union Horizon 2020 XR4ALL funded project. Vishak previously had a key role in the following research and innovation projects: Integration of BIM and AR, the Smart City Sensing project, funded by the Teesside University Grand Challenge Research Fund, and the Calibration of Environmental Monitoring Sensors Project, funded as part of the TU Students as Researchers Scheme.
Vishak is currently a graduate member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and a member of the ICE Teesside Branch Committee.
