Academic Biography
Dr Wa’el Alkaraki is a Lecturer in Business at Teesside University International Business School, where he brings a wealth of academic and practical experience to his role. His educational journey began with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, followed by an MBA with Distinction from the University of Sunderland. His passion for improving business performance led him to pursue a PhD in Total Quality Management (TQM) Strategy for Improving Business Performance at Liverpool Business School (LBS).
Dr. Alkaraki's research interests are diverse and interconnected, encompassing Sustainability, Supply Chain Management, Quality Management, Lean Management, Business Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Business Analysis, and the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in business contexts. His work in these areas aims to advance the understanding and implementation of strategies that foster sustainable and high-performing business operations.
Before transitioning to academia, Dr. Alkaraki combined substantial experience in both the public and private sectors. He dedicated 15 years to the Jordanian government, working in the foreign ministry, where he gained invaluable insights into public sector operations and international relations. Following his public service, he spent two years in the industrial sector, further honing his expertise in applying quality management principles to real-world business challenges.
At Teesside University, Dr. Alkaraki leverages his extensive background to educate and inspire the next generation of business leaders. His courses are enriched by his practical experience and research, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of modern business strategies and tools.
