Yasser Iqbal

Dr. Yasser Iqbal is a senior lecturer in business and management in Teesside University International Business School with specialist knowledge in project management. He primarily teaches at undergraduate and postgraduate levels whilst also supervising undergraduate dissertations and postgraduate/MBA students. Yasser has previously been employed as a research consultant to develop learning, teaching and assessment strategies and enhancing the student experience which is advocated through his learning and teaching approach.

As well as championing a research informed teaching approach, Yasser’s other research interests include marketing and the digital sector which has led to him being involved in a number of consultancy and knowledge exchange partnerships helping organisations to utilise digital technologies to support growth and capitalise on the online economy. Yasser has also mentored university graduates placed in internship roles in various UK based SME’s.

Yasser completed a PhD research degree at Newcastle Business School exploring marketing of the male body image and its implications on male consumer’s lived experiences. He is currently pursuing publication development in the areas of male embodiment and embodied consumerism.

Yasser is a teaching fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a member of the Academy of Marketing and Chartered Management Institute. He is also an external examiner at other higher education institutions. Outside of the academic role Yasser has corporate experience in Information communication technology, project management in addition to business strategy development and digital marketing.
