Academic Biography

Having graduated from Teesside Polytechnic in 1990, the individual embarked on a career as an IT Consultant for a local business, specialising in the development of information systems. In 1992, a transition occurred as they joined the University's Business Development Unit, assuming the role of Business Development Officer in IT. This position involved aiding small businesses in optimizing their processes through the strategic implementation of technology. The unit later merged with the Teesside University Business School in 1998, leading to a subsequent move to the School of Computing in 2000.

Whilst in the School of Computing, Engineering and Digital Technologies, he has taught on a range of programmes and undertaken consultancy work with businesses. He has also held a number of roles within the School, including Programme Leader, E-Learning Co-ordinator, Section Head and now Head of Department for Computing and Games
