Academic Biography

Zaineb Gul is a Tutor in Games and Animation with a background in Games Design and five years of teaching experience across further and higher education. With a strong interest in both the design and artistic sides of game development, she teaches across disciplines blending her knowledge of game systems and digital art practices. This interdisciplinary approach supports students in developing creative, industry-relevant skills in both Game Design and Game Art.

Zaineb joined Teesside University London in 2024 and was promoted to Tutor by the end of the year in recognition of her contributions to student learning and curriculum development. Prior to that, she taught in further education for over three years, where she played a key role in shaping creative media curricula and supporting student progression.

Her academic interests include the psychology of play and the impact of immersive technologies on human behaviour and experience; areas she intends to explore through future research. She has also contributed to outreach through talks and panels on women in games and representation in creative industries.

Zaineb’s teaching ethos centres on accessibility, creativity, and growth. She creates engaging environments that encourage students to take risks, refine their ideas, and maintain a deep connection to their craft. Within her team, she is known for her forward-thinking mindset, imaginative teaching methods, and commitment to student development.
