Academic Biography

Key Responsibilities in Role as Lecturer of Dental Hygiene:

  1. To contribute to the design, delivery, assessment and quality assurance of the University’s programmes and modules at all levels, including module leadership.
  2. To deliver innovative, engaging and effective teaching through a range of delivery styles including distance learning, team-based working etc.
  3. To ensure that learning provided to students is contemporary, underpinned and informed by research, external stakeholders and current developments in the field.
  4. To support student learning, the pastoral needs of students, and student retention through the provision of personal tutoring, academic advice and guidance.
  5. Provide and supervise preventative services such as oral hygiene instruction, fluoride application, and dietary advice.
    Research and Scholarship
  6. Undertake Research and Scholarly activity, including the creation of novel ideas and concepts and contributing to knowledge in and the development of the discipline.
  7. Supervision of Research students, and other research projects including support for and assessment of dissertations, theses and oral examinations.
