AHRC Impact Acceleration Account: Developing a Professional Network between Tees Valley Writers and North East Publishers and Writing Organisations

This project will develop a professional network between North East writers and publishers, providing writers with greater agency and publishers new creative and commercial opportunities to work with Teesside/ North East voices.

I will convene workshops with three Creative Writing groups in the Tees Valley to produce a theory of change about accessibility, diversity, and inclusion in writing and publishing. I will be asking the groups to discuss and take part in activities that help us to identify barriers to accessing publishing opportunities for writers in the Tees Valley.

Following the co-creation of the theory of change, I will arrange a sandpit event with key stakeholders in the North East, including publishers and writing organisations, where we will discuss the theory of change with a view to generate new partnerships and ways of working.
