Project Details
Description
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a modifiable risk factor for dementia. Neuroinflammation is a potential driver for dementia-associated neurodegenerative pathologies after TBI, but the mechanism is unknown. During neuroinflammation, microglial cells remove protein deposits through autophagy. The aim of this project is to characterise the crosstalk of autophagy (Atg) and protein expression pathways with the induction of neuroinflammatory responses in human microglia.
