Biological materials for direct air carbon capture

The research envisages to develop a new class of carbon-ab/adsorbing materials (sourced from amino acids, enzymes and ionic liquids) to capture carbon dioxide directly from air at room conditions. The performance of these materials shall be analogous to hygroscopic materials that absorb water from air at similar conditions.
