Project Details
Description
People with epilepsy (PWE) can describe their seizures as an external force which invades their bodies (Kılınç et al., 2018; Rawlings et al., 2018). However, when asked questions about their seizure experience, PWE can find it difficult to discuss. Howlett (2004) proposes that writing to condition symptoms is effective in examining bodily experiences and complex phenomena, therefore the current study aims to explore the experience of epilepsy seizures by asking PWE to write a letter to their seizure. Further understanding of the seizure experience can inform health, social care and psychological services for PWE.
