Project Details
Description
H2FOOD is an 12-month research and innovation project funded by UK Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) through the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund (IETF) scheme. The project will seek to develop detailed techno-economic models from which potential investment decisions can be made regarding fuel-switching of food production lines from Natural Gas to Hydrogen, in order to support a major industrial partner meet their Net Zero ambitions. A techno-economic toolset and calibrated model will be developed that will enable the development and assessment of potential conceptual engineering designs, to operate as close as possible to a real case deployment as well as providing in-depth insights of economic, technical, logistical and H&S requirements of the hydrogen-based solutions.
