Project Details
Description
The C2REST Nigeria Study is a 3-year research project (2024-2027) that seeks to understand and address the impact of climate change on respiratory health in Nigeria funded by the Medical Research Foundation, United Kingdom.
Layman's description
Rapid population growth and human activities in Nigeria drive several climatic, environmental and population health problems. Anthropogenic activities, such as the burning of municipal wastes and deforestation, along with oil exploration and traffic pollution, are major challenges in many cities. The understanding of related health impacts on the population, particularly respiratory health, is limited, affecting national and subnational responses, which is what we seek to explore over the three-year study period.
