Description

The Education Endowment Foundation, a charity has a mandate to reduce gap in educational attainment and break the link between educational achievement and socioeconomic disadvantage. The “Methodological Research to Support Evaluation, Synthesis, and Translation of Evidence to Improve the Educational Attainments of Disadvantaged Children in England” project is a collaborative project (Teesside University and Durham University), which is built on the Durham University’s engagement with EEF during 2021-May 2024. This project provides advanced methodological support to the Education Endowment Foundation through secondary analysis of archived data of EEF-funded educational intervention randomised controlled trials, accessed through Office of National Statistics secure Research Service (SRS) platform. Other activities include offering biyearly training workshop to evaluators from range of institutes engaged with analysis of EEF-trials. Teesside University leads the workstream focused on tracking longitudinal effects of educational interventions among school children in England, and developing methods to assess socioeconomic disadvantages using a composite indicator.
