The project (funded by a Saudi Arabian higher education institution) envisages developing an all-inclusive modelling approach for facilitated transport mixed matrix membranes, used in industrial pre-combustion carbon capture.
The study plans to create a computer based algorithm that allows the industrial managers to make informed decisions when choosing the type of membranes, choice of operating parameters and evaluating separation efficiency for natural gas sweetening, biogas upgrading and carbon dioxide removal systems.
