Pakistani women writers play a leading role in raising awareness of contemporary gender inequalities; women researchers are at the forefront of research investigating culture’s capacity to inspire transformative social change. Investment in bespoke professional development programmes are central to tackling persistent gender inequalities. Shaped in discussion with in-country academics and ECRs, this project offers women scholars access to international networking and intensive researcher development. Co-delivered by UK and Pakistani women scholars, its activities will provide training, mentoring and support with academic writing and publishing, catalysing new research addressing gender inequality, and deepening understanding of Pakistani women’s writing’s place within wider literary contexts.
