‘abstract pink’, ‘abstract red-green’, ‘abstract red-white’, ‘abstract aqua’ and ‘abstract blue-black’ in the exhibition 'Colour & I Are One'

The preview was held on Friday 19th May 2017, 6pm - 8.30pm. The artists in the group exhibition are: Gareth Griffiths, Pete Hoida, Karol Kochanowski, James Roper, Sabrina Schmid, Stephen Snoddy, Patricia Volk. As one of the exhibiting artists, the author’s (Sabrina Schmid) work in the exhibition is a set of five fine art prints, entitled ‘abstract pink’, ‘abstract red-green’, ‘abstract red-white’, ‘abstract aqua’ and ‘abstract blue-black’. Each work is available as one original giclée digital print at large scale 914 x 870 mm, and in an edition of ten at a smaller scale 525 x 500mm. The exhibition is described as follows: ‘A group exhibition celebrating the joy of colour through painting, sculpture and film. It was Paul Klee who exclaimed “Colour and I are one. I am a painter” following an epiphany while on a trip to Tunisia in 1914. Each of the seven colourists represented in Saul Hay Gallery’s fourth exhibition bring to their work an deep understanding of the language and power of colour to evoke an emotional response in the viewer.’The exhibition is described as follows: ‘A group exhibition celebrating the joy of colour through painting, sculpture and film. The prints by Sabrina Schmid also participated in the 'Anniversary' group exhibition from 30th September - 12th November 2017, Saul Hay Gallery - Contemporary Art Manchester, England, as one of the 35 invited artists who exhibited with the gallery over the past year during 2017.
