Abstract

The performance of current Automatic Speech Recognition systems in the lecture environment is still below the level required for accurate transcription of lectures. This paper reports on the results of a study to assess the potential of the Semantic and Syntactic Transcription Analysing Tool in the production of meaningful post-lecture material with minimal investment in time and effort by academic staff.
