Rationale for the review
Domestic abuse is a significant global concern which disproportionately affects women globally. In the United Kingdom, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) women are disproportionately affected due to poor culturally appropriate service, stigma, religio-cultural barriers and poor help-seeking. They also suffer from psychological distress, including depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder. Yet, there is a gap in the synthesis of art-based interventions to improve the mental health and psychosocial well-being of the affected population. The present review addresses the gap to identify and inform culturally appropriate interventions for affected BAME women.

Review objectives
The main objectives of the review are to synthesise empirical literature on interventions for the mental health and wellbeing of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) women affected by domestic abuse in the UK. It is based on the preceding backdrop that the review addresses the following question:

• What are the interventions to address the mental health and psychosocial wellbeing need of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic women affected by domestic abuse in the UK?
