    Abstract

The aims of this artist-in-residency programme are to explore the relationship between creative practices and the regeneration of community, as the population of this region is currently decreasing. The objectives are to invite artists to Miyoshi city, so that they can create ideas and working practices as artists-in-community, and to encourage participatory art for the purpose of community regeneration. As an invited artist, my roles were to 1) produce a body of artwork responding to Miyoshi city’s historical, cultural, social and natural environments, and 2) deliver an educational workshop for the local people. My photography workshop was filmed for the Ikeda TV company.
