Abstract

The 'Barriers to Women's Employment and Progression in the Workplace' research project was funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) under Objective 3, aimed primarily at tackling barriers to labour market participation. The overall purpose of the project was to explore the barriers faced by women in the North East of England in finding employment and progressing in the labour market. Research was carried out between November 2002 and December 2003.
