Blockchain for water management

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

Increasing global concerns about water availability, management, and control have made it necessary to use advanced technologies to improve the performance of water systems. Blockchain is an emerging technology with substantial capabilities in data management and security and has shown great potential to contribute to water engineering projects. In this chapter, the applicability of this technology in different water systems has been discussed, and successful examples of adopting this technology into real-world applications are mentioned. The overview presented in this chapter will provide insight into the topic and will enable increasing water system performance worldwide.
