Abstract

This chapter will draw together key themes from the preceding chapters to enable students to develop their own vision of the future impact of digital technology on legal practice, the justice system and wider legal transactions. In particular, the chapter focuses upon the concept of a digital lawyer; technology, innovation and regulation; ethics and conduct; challenges and critiques; and skills and opportunities. Each author will share their own vision of how aspects of digital lawyering, legal education and technology are likely to have developed in 30 years’ time. The chapter will end by encouraging students to continue to embrace the benefits and opportunities of engaging with digital lawyering and technology more broadly whilst acknowledging the complex challenges and issues involved in doing so.
