Abstract

Create Aspire Transform (CAT) aims to transform practice within Northumberland schools by evidencing the benefits achieved through cultural learning. This programme evaluates the impact of engagement with creative practitioners, cultural venues and professional development for teachers to sustain a broad and rich curriculum. This presentation explores the importance of collaborative practice, investigating the impact of shared learning, with aim to identify attitudes that might inform knowledge construction with others.

The research explores the rationale and value of creative cultural learning; this describes how practice-based professional development programmes can facilitate reflection and application that supports increased confidence with creative cultural pedagogy.
