Abstract
Engineers involved in the analysis of thermal systems often compute thermodynamic properties of gases and vapours using an equation of state rather than use tables or charts, as this eradicates the need for interpolation and gives increased accuracy. In this work, density and temperature explicit equations of state are developed for steam. These equations were found to perform well from the accuracy and computational speed viewpoints.
