Abstract

Paper presented at 'Women in Uniform & The Changing World Order' conference in Nov-Dec 2000 and subsequently published as part of the Conference Proceedings.

Paper was based on doctoral research exploring the experiences of lesbians in the British Army and highlighted some of the ways in which 'doing gender' impacted on gay women in the negotiation of their sexual identity within an organisation which (until January 2000) banned homosexuality.
