Abstract
Drawings from a disappearing world documents an exploration of the fragility of nature. As the first natural history illustrators documented discoveries of new species, artist and illustrator Amy Dover documents those which are disappearing and even those which are lost forever. This book looks to question our relationship with other animals in the face of mass extinction in a critical time on our planet.
This book contains drawings of "endlings" animals which were the last of their species, and the stories of how they disappeared forever. There are also illustrations of animals which were brought to England from far away places as gifts for kings. As well as other exploratory drawings and sketches on humans relationship with non human animals.
