Abstract

Ethical problems abound in psychiatric and mental health nursing practice; for example, the ethics of involuntary and enforced treatment such as medication. The literature frequently focuses upon clinical scenarios whereby the client, having been assessed as in medical need of he medication or commitment to a mental health institution, refuses to accept this (Brown 1991,Miller 1991).
